Take this coffee, and take it swift.
My will to move is now gone,
And, when it’s empty, you are rejoiced,
No more schizophrenic dawn.
Yet if it disappears, so too does reality.
Is this life, or just a dream?
Is it truly gone?

Double Exposure by Marlow Huffman
The cup – empty on the table;
gone and hollow.
I lie in bed, clutch my pillow,
ten alarms pass by.
I’m still asleep.
While I slap the alarm clock,
time and time again,
O God! Can I not grasp,
These moments tighter.
For life is but a nap, within my dreams.

What motivated you to write this piece, and what is its message?
I wrote this piece to relate to teenagers today. Most adolescents today like to spend their leisure time however they please. However, when it becomes a problem, we often ignore it.
