Hushed overhead, not one cloud passes by
In the brush, gone but a damselfly
The lake’s whispers shy
The old fox pauses, ever so sly.
Ripples of sound waves glide past the plains
The evergreen forest struggles out of its chains
Comes crashing down, though not like the rains
But the wise conifer tree, not in vain.
In its place lives an ecosystem to grow
It’s fulfilled and in its place, a river will flow
A new slate for a first ever snow
The frosty winds will sing and blow.
A moment of silence for the conifer tree
Rattled the woods, though not for eternity
Life runs beyond the sizeable sea
A moment of silence for the conifer tree.
