we publish two issues every year: a spring issue with art and writing from the school literary fair and a fall issue with art and writing submitted by students and selected by our editors in response to an annual “theme.”

this is the timeline of our process.

  • OCTOBER

we, the editors, meet to coordinate the publishing process and decide on a theme for the magazine.

  • NOVEMBER

we send out works submitted by students to the literary fair to the judges (teachers and administration) for review.

  • DECEMBER

students submit work to the scholastic art & writing awards.

  • JANUARY

judges finish evaluating the literary fair works and return the winning pieces to us.

regional awards for scholastic art and writing are announced.

  • JANUARY – APRIL

we compile student interviews, bios, and works and create online spreads featuring student art & writing for the spring issue.

  • APRIL

we publish our spring issue with winning school literary fair and scholastic art & writing pieces.
