Nature’s Breath

By Daniela Sanchez

Why does the wind blow?

How does a breeze turn to storm?

And where might it end?

Biography

My name is Daniela Sanchez, and I’m a sophomore. When I’m out of school, I like to crochet, paint, write, do aerial dance, and play a couple instruments. In school, I’m in the pre-engineering program, thespians, and band.

Why did you choose to submit this category(s) of artwork/writing out of the many available category options?

I actually also submitted a short story I’m very proud of as well as a cinquain, but I’ve always loved haikus because of the way so much meaning has to be packed into just a few words.

How do you resonate with your piece? Why is it personal to you?

I feel that there are many questions that will never be answered. They’ll continue buzzing around in our brains. Combining this intrigue with the familiar calls of nature felt like an interesting way to express curiosity.
