Nothing Will Ever Stay the Same
By Sophie Hochwald
Nothing will ever stay the same
The world is always changing, anew
Your time passed, your time came
I promise your time will come again
And I swear that life will not stop for you
Nothing will ever stay the same
Yes, you may wish that things would not change But that would be a wish wasted, it is true
Your time passed, your time came
Another perfect moment has came
Savor the feeling and take in the view
Nothing will ever stay the same
Sing in the shower, dance in the rain
Don’t let the fluctuating world make you blue
Your time passed, your time came
And in the darkest moments when you feel nothing but pain, Remember that things will always change
Your time passed, your time came
Nothing will ever stay the same

Biography
My name is Sophie Hochwald and I am a sophomore. When I am not in school, I like to spend my time playing piano or spending time with my friends. When I am at school I am co-president of the Communiteens club.
What motivated you to write this piece?
My motivation to compose this poem came from the changes and dynamism that life brings to all of us every day.
How do you resonate with your piece? Why is it personal to you?
This piece is personal to me because of the changes that ensued when I moved from New York to Florida. At first, the change was scary, and I didn’t want to accept it, but over time I adapted to my new life.
