The Eclipse
by Meghan Renaud

How peculiar I find the sun and moon
Though the lively star boasts the song of light
The tranquil lune hums a delicate tune
Sustaining the contest of day and night
But with the dawn of ev’ry century
The twin spheres reconcile in the heavens
And their souls embrace so familiarly
With a fondness that no one can question
All the stars gaze upon this homecoming
It bears not the fleeting spell of comets
Found in this celestial intermingling
Is immortal affection and promise
And so I yearn for our own grand eclipse
And so it will be our spirits do mix
