The Moon
By Noor Dalal
I am the moon, I shine so bright,
A glowing orb that lights up the night.
I watch the world from my quiet sky,
But few ever pause to look up high.
I sparkle and glow in the endless dark,
A gentle guide, a silver spark.
I veil the shadows, the pain, the cries,
The hidden truths, the silent lies.
Though I never speak, I’m always here,
A steadfast presence, calm and clear.
People whisper, “How she glistens,”
While I hold their secrets and quietly listen.
I seem so far, yet I am near,
Always waiting with a patient ear.
I hear the dreams of men and women,
The songs of children, bright and driven.
Their joy and sorrow fuel my light,
To pierce the veil of the darkest night.
And so, I’ll shine, unwavering, strong,
A beacon of hope, all night long.
