the untold tale
by Maya Moore

As I entered the gates of Allendale Oh, an old city it was The aura of musk Took heed to my senses And the signs of acknowledgment Filled the atmosphere My fellow passersby Were greeted with warmth Oh, but there was something A little unsettling Perplexing Agitating to the soul There was a strangeness in the wind Of uncertainty Misgiving Was it only cast on me? I wonder The distinguished fellow upon my journey here Made known to me The myths of this enchanted place The age-old city With narrow, intertwining, cobbled streets For man to tread and be left wondering Why The gate within the city walls Had an entrance known To be so troubling Oh, the old city Oh, dear old Allendale
