The White Witch’s Wintry Reign

By Dhruv Khosla

Preventing Christmas, bringing an eternal winter cold,

This power hungry witch got the whole land in her hold.

Through ice and fear, she claimed her stolen throne,

While subjects kneeled on floors of bitter stone.

In courtyard gardens filled with statues gray,

Stand silent witnesses of those who dared to stray.

Her icy magic instantly turned warm flesh to frost

Do you know which witch brings this endless cost?

Yet, the White Witch of Narnia had one paralyzing fear,

A prophecy that threatened the power that she held dear.

It foretold the rise of four human children as her doom,

And Aslan the Lion’s return to break her wintry gloom.

So when she saw a human in her land, a young boy,

To escape her doom, the witch came up with a ploy.

Revealing herself to him as the all-powerful Queen,

She promised him rewards beyond what he has ever seen.

Yet, the price of these rewards was dark and steep.

A betrayal that would make any loving brother weep.

His greed consumed him without any hesitation,

As he led his own family to the enchanted nation.

But their faithful friends saved them from dreaded fate,

And so the four siblings escaped before it was too late.

And with that, the witch’s rule was ending fast,

For Aslan’s mighty presence had arrived at last.

Yet, the witch still held a final, powerful trick up her sleeve,

Invoking the Ancient Law, a life she is allowed to thieve.

To save the others, the brave Aslan volunteered to die,

And with his fall, the witch’s hopes soared sky high.

She led the war effort against all the remaining rebels,

Mercilessly turning spirited soldiers into lowly pebbles.

But when it seemed like all of Narnia was truly lost,

Aslan resurrected to show what evil’s pride can cost.

Her magic clashed fiercely with his thundering claws,

As his steely resolve made even her darkness pause.

In this final clash of virtuousness and evil’s might,

Aslan’s deathly victory improved Narnia’s poor plight.

And thus ended the White Witch’s brutal reign,

That terrorized Narnia in its constant chains of pain.

To replace it, came a period of kindness and peace,

Yet the rumors of the witch’s survival never cease…
