I’m not
A source of pride
I know you love me, yet
I’ll never be good enough
For love

Jack Finneran (grade 12)
After school, I enjoy competing both academically, on the math and science bowl competition teams, and athletically, on the track and cross-country teams. At home when I’m not studying or running, I can often be found relaxing with a good book or educational video.
what was our main source of inspiration?
My inspiration comes from the assignments given to me in English class. I find that their criteria and constraints ignite my creative process, and I aspire to add a unique element to each piece of writing I create.
what motivated you to write this piece?
I was motivated to write this piece for an English assignment regarding universal themes. I chose to create a poem based on the theme of a father-son relationship I saw in 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘒𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘙𝘶𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘳 between Amir and his father.
do you write sporadically or regularly?
Sporadically. I rarely write outside of the classroom.
